Funded ‘Birds of a Feather Flock Together’ Project

Birds of a Feather Flock Together project is inviting youth to participate in a 11-month volunteering opportunity in Zagreb, Croatia. Participants will conduct nature conservation fieldwork and produce educational content. The deadline is on 8 November 2020.

The ‘Birds of a Feather Flock Together’ project

The project is part of The European Solidarity Corps, the new European Union initiative which creates opportunities for young people to volunteer or work in projects in their own country or abroad that benefit communities and people around Europe. European Solidarity Corps projects will be available to people up to the age of 30 years old. Projects supported by the European Solidarity Corps can last from two to twelve months.

The ‘Birds of a Feather Flock Together’ project aims to strengthen communities within Croatia to promote nature conservation. This dynamic opportunity is based in several Croatian protected areas and will provide a unique chance to explore hidden landscapes during ornithological fieldwork, learn about public education and awareness-raising. The anticipated tasks for volunteers include participating in nature conservation fieldwork and bird care activities, creating promotional content for social media and organization websites.  The volunteers will have shared or individual accommodation provided at every working location during their project. Many of these locations will be isolated or in very small communities of people. All travel costs relating to the project incurred by the volunteers will be reimbursed. The volunteers will get a pre-determined monthly allowance (pocket money) and money to cover their food expenses. The project will take place over 44 weeks on 25 January – 31 November 2021.

The deadline is on 8 November 2020.
