Ashoka invites young people to apply for ChangemakerXchange 2016. It is a global collaboration platform for young social entrepreneurs. It gathers most exciting changemakers at summits around the world for the exchange and co-creation of ideas. The ChangemakerXchange will take place in Sicily, Italy from 14th of December 2016 to 18th of December 2016. Participation is fully funded. The deadline for applications is midnight GMT on 28th September 2016.
Founded by Ashoka in 2012 and supported by the Robert Bosch Stiftung the ChangemakerXchange selects and gathers changemakers, aged 18 to 28, with a proven track record in driving exciting social ventures. Giving them a unique chance to share experiences, learn from each other and create cross-border collaborations the program now unites over 200 young innovators across 55 countries with many more summits lined up already.
Main criteria
- Aged between 18 and 30. A limited number of three places is available for 29- and 30-year-old applicants;
- Lead, co-lead, have founded or co-founded own social venture which is up and running and addresses a relevant social problem;
- Fluent English;
- Come from Europe, Turkey, the South Caucasus, the Middle East or North Africa (the Maghreb and Egypt).
ChangemakerXchange covers 100% of travel costs and the majority of the conference costs for all four nights and five days (including hotel accommodation, inner city travel, food, entrance fees, etc.). However, participants will be charged a fee of €100 to cover part of the costs. There are a limited number of stipends for those in special need available.
