Fully Funded Landecker Democracy Fellowship

Individuals based in the European Union, the United Kingdom and the United States with leadership experience and demonstrated political or civic engagement are invited to participate in the Landecker democracy fellowship. Fellows will receive a monthly stipend and seed funding to implement their initiatives. The deadline is on Sunday 11 July 2021.

In partnership with the Alfred Landecker Foundation, Humanity in Action launched the Landecker Democracy Fellowship in 2020.

Each year, the fellowship brings together 30 diverse leaders who spend one year on creating projects that reinvent democratic spaces.

The thematic focus of this year’s Landecker Democracy Fellowship is social cohesion, for which applicants are invited to develop compelling project ideas.

Candidates present a project proposal for an impactful political or civic initiative. Proposals can, for example, be based on community organising, digital campaigning or cultural strategising.

The implementation of the project needs to be accompanied by various activities, both on- and offline.

The 12-month fellowship will commence in November 2021. Fellows are offered an intense virtual and on-site training program throughout the year including topics such as ecosystem mapping & defining audiences; social media messaging; creating community & holding space; building high-performance teams and empathy.

The fellowship offers a stipend of €10,000 to be paid out monthly over 12 months.

Additionally, fellows will receive a project seed funding grant of €5,000 for the implementation of the fellow’s project idea.

As part of the fellowship, participants will have all their expenses covered to attend a six-day Action Academy in Berlin in March 2022.

The deadline is on Sunday 11th July 2021.
