Free Tickets For Books!

The Romanian city of Cluj-Napoca in Transylvania has become the first city in the world to provide free transport to all passengers who are reading books while riding the bus.

The initiative was launched by young activist and book-lover Victor Miron, whose idea was to encourage people to read more. He proposed his idea to the city’s mayor, Emil Boc, who shared it with the municipal authorities a year ago. As Miron reports, the mayor posted the proposal on his Facebook page, and the feedback was amazing. The city adopted Miron’s idea in June of this year when passengers with books actually got a chance to ride the bus for free from 4th to 7th June, 2015.

Since his idea enjoyed a great success, Victor Miron has asked everyone to support his effort to persuade Mark Zuckerberg to Book-face his Face-book profile.

Let’s see what happens!
