”Highest paid” vice-chancellor replaced
The University of Bath decided to replace the highest paid vice-chancellor in the UK Dame Glynis Breakwell, who is earning a staggering £468,000, reports BBC. Following a dispute over her salary in August, she decided to step down and new vice-chancellor, professor Ian White was brought in. He will be earning annual salary of £266,000. Last November, many students and staff protested and called for Dame Glynis to step down because of her excessive pay. President of the University of Bath Students’ Union, Eve Alcock stated: “Students and staff had input and representation throughout and so we had the chance hear about Ian White’s values and vision for the university… I am confident that Ian White is the right choice. We can all look forward to an exciting and bright future for our university.”
