If you are a Civic Tech innovator working on an ongoing or completed civictech project aiming to improve democracy, you are welcome to submit your project, win a EU prize and a trip to Brussels. The deadline is on July 31st.
CivicTech4Democracy is the EU’s global competition showcasing democratic innovation by citizens for citizens across the world. CivicTech4Democary will reward projects that have successfully used digital tools to advance democracy and were implemented between 2010 and now. The six winning projects will be showcased in Brussels on 14 September 2018.
All six winners will be invited to Brussels, the capital of Europe, to receive their award, present their projects, and meet experts and international donors.
Main criteria
- The competition is open to NGO workers, bloggers, civic technologists, grassroots activists, advocates for rights, and anyone who has used digital tools to advance democracy;
- Project should have advanced transparency, participation and/or accountability in a non-OECD country.
In order to participate, create a two-minute video presenting your initiative. The video should answer the following questions: What was the problem? What was your goal? How did your civic tech solution help to address it? How did people benefit from your project?
