The United Nations Alliance of Civilizations has opened call for applications for the Youth Event at the 7th Global Forum. The event will be hosted by the government of Azerbaijan from April 25 to 27. Deadline to apply is January 17, 2016. Participation is fully funded.
UNAOC is an initiative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, which responds to a broad consensus across nations, cultures and religions that all societies are interdependent, bound together in their development and security, and in their environmental, economic and financial well-being. The UNOAC Global Forum is a major event organized regularly by the UNAOC, bringing together government heads of states and Foreign Ministers, prominent personalities and experts as well as current and potential partners from academia, media, the private sector, youth-led organizations and other civil society organizations.
The Youth Event is conceived as a preparatory event to maximize and enrich youth’s experience of the 7th Global Forum, a unique international level opportunity for the civic and intercultural participation of young people. There will be around 150 youth selected for the event from diverse cultural and religious backgrounds with outstanding track records in intercultural dialogue and youth work.
Main criteria:
- Age between 18 and 35 years old
- Be a member or a representative of a youth-led organization, network or initiative
- Have undertaken initiatives at the community or policy level that foster social inclusion, intercultural dialogue, and promote peace
