Dell Scholars Programme For American High School Students

Current high school students are invited to apply for the Dell Scholars programme. Scholars will receive a $20,000 scholarship and a comprehensive financial support package geared towards college-related expenses. Candidates should be working towards completing their high school studies at a high school in the US. The deadline is on Friday 1st October 2021.

The programme is initiated by the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation.

The foundation is dedicated to transforming the lives of children living in urban poverty through improving their education, health and family economic stability.

All Dell scholars will receive a $20,000 scholarship; personalised, multifaceted support for the academic, financial, and emotional life challenges that may prevent students from completing college.

Additionally, students will benefit from a laptop with four-year warranty, Chegg credits ($500 annually for four years) to be used for textbook purchases, and a tele-therapy service that connects students to professional counselling.

In their applications, candidates should demonstrate overcoming personal challenges, participation in college readiness programmes, academic rigour, and ambition for academic excellence at college.

The deadline is on Friday 1st October 2021.

Main Criteria

While a 2.4 grade point average is required, the Dell Scholars programme targets low-income, highly motivated students who are better than their numbers indicate and demonstrate the drive to succeed despite personal obstacles.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a unique GPA of grit, potential, and ambition in their quest for a college education.
