New generations of contemporary dancers from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA region) are invited for the Dancing on the Edge Scholarship Programme in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Dancing on the Edge (DOTE) offers scholarships that cover accommodation and travel. In case the current situation prevents participants from travelling, there will be an online masterclass programme available. The deadline is on Monday 1st March 2021.
DOTE is an organisation in The Netherlands devoted to presenting and promoting Middle Eastern/North African performing arts.
It provides a platform for talented artists from this region, who produce original, relevant, vital and creative work.
Depending on the current Covid-19 situation, participants will join either the in-person workshop or attend the three-week online masterclasses.
The offline masterclass programme covers travel and visa expenses, accommodation, program fees, and some performance tickets. This programme will take place in Amsterdam, The Netherlands in July 2021.
The online masterclass programme will take place over the three weeks in June 2021.
In a small group of selected dancers, you will take part in an intensive online program, with a different teacher every week and one three-week workshop.
The deadline is on Monday 1st March 2021.
Main Criteria
- Dancers applying must come from (and be at least partly based in) an Arab country or Iran.
- Have training and performance experience in contemporary dance.
- Be no older than 27 years.
