Conservation Volunteering With TCV in Belfast, United Kingdom

Young people from selected countries are invited to join The Conservation Volunteers on a 39-week placement in Belfast, United Kingdom. Volunteers will closely work on maintaining botanic gardens in the local community. The deadline is on Saturday 17th April 2021.

The Conservation Volunteers (TCV) is UK’s leading environmental volunteering charity, engaging over 128,000 people annually who collectively transform 1,500 green spaces.

Their mission is to connect people and green spaces to deliver lasting outcomes for both.

TCV Northern Ireland are seeking three EVS placements to support the Green Gym community gardens and native tree nursery projects.

TCV Green Gym community gardens allow people to improve their physical fitness through involvement in practical conservation activities.

TCV’s Tree Nursery is unique to the island of Ireland as it encapsulates all the processes to grow indigenous tree stock for seed to their forever home.

Volunteers will live in a shared house near TCV’s Belfast office. You will gain a range of practical skills and experience, i.e. seed sowing, grow bed preparation, planting seedlings, and more.

Prior experience of practical conservation projects is useful but not required. The programme lasts for 39 weeks from Saturday 1st May 2021 to Thursday 31st March 2022.

The deadline is on Saturday 17th April 2021.
