Current undergraduate-level Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) students are invited to apply for a congressional internship in Washington, D.C. Over the eight weeks, candidates will get a chance to work in a congressional office and in the UPS office. A $2,500 stipend as well as travel costs will be covered. The deadline is on Friday 30th July 2021.
The programme is organised by the Asian Pacific American Institute for Congressional Studies, a non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting Asian Pacific American participation and representation at all levels of the political process, from community service to elected office.
The autumn internship programme will take place from September to November 2021.
The programme will be hosted in partnership with the United Parcel Service (UPS). Interns will work in the UPS office one day per week and in a congressional office the remaining days of the week. Candidates should be able to commit to work a minimum of 32 hours a week.
Interns will attend professional development events and benefit from a stipend of $2,500. Additionally, interns will have their round-trip transportation to Washington, D.C. covered.
Applications are scored based on evidence of leadership and leadership potential, including community involvement, commitment to public service, and ability to challenge self.

Main Criteria
Applicants must currently be undergraduate students enrolled in an accredited educational institution.
Be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, or individuals who are legally authorized to work full-time without restriction for any U.S. employer.
Candidates should provide a resume, a cover letter, essay responses, and two letters of recommendation.
