Communications Internship for International Cooperation Company

Current students and recent graduates are invited for a paid internship at a German federal company. You will support external communication and develop project management skills within the framework of cooperation with African countries. The monthly internship remuneration is € 1,608. The deadline is on 9 August 2020.

As a federal company, GIZ supports German government in achieving its goals in international cooperation for sustainable development. They help organisations, public authorities and private businesses to optimise their organisational, managerial and production processes. The company is headquartered in Eschborn, Germany

Interns will closely work with digital centers which are physical and virtual hubs in African countries that promote digital solutions for sustainable development “Made in Africa”. Some of the issues at hand are digital health, entrepreneurship, e-government, data protection, and technology impacts. As an intern, you responsibilities will include close collaboration with digital centers. You will support internal and external communication, prepare presentations and press releases and maintain databases. Additionally, you will organize events with cooperation partners in business, including participant management, documentation and other event management tasks. The monthly internship remuneration is € 1,608.

Main criteria

  • Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in international relations, economics, humanities, or a related field of studies
  • Interns need to demonstrate fluency in spoken and verbal English and German; knowledge of French is an advantage
  • Experience of studying or working abroad as well as project and innovation management background are beneficial
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and content management systems is an advantage
