Communications Internship at UN Global Innovation Centre

Candidates are invited for a six-month paid internship at the UN Office for Project Services in Lund, Sweden. Interns will contribute to communications and management of the office and have access to a large offering of online training. The deadline is on 13 August 2020.

The UN Office for Project Services (UNOPS) is an operational arm of the United Nations, supporting the successful implementation of its partners; peace-building, humanitarian and development projects around the world.

Mandated as a central resource of the United Nations, UNOPS provides sustainable project management, procurement and infrastructure services to a wide range of governments, donors and United Nations organizations.

This position will be located in the Global Innovation Centre in Sweden. The intern will learn and practice skills related to communications and event management.

Functional responsibilities will include helping draft engaging and crisp material to use in GIC Sweden communication, participating in content creation for social media, and even planning as well as supporting the team with overall meeting coordination and efficiency.

The intern will have access to a large offering of online training on the comprehensive UNOPS intranet and opportunities to communicate with UNOPS HQ, Regional Office, and other country offices.

Interns may be eligible for a monthly stipend from UNOPS provided that they do not receive funds from other institutions.

The deadline is on 13 August 2020.

 

Main criteria

  • All applicants must be enrolled in a university program or have graduated from such studies within three years prior to the application date of the internship
  • The preferred education is in the area of communication, journalism, graphic design, mass media, digital communication, public relations and other related studies
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is required
  • Swedish is desired but not required
