CERN European Research Council Grants

Talented early-career scientists with a proven track record of excellent supervised work are invited to receive CERN European Research Council Grants at a European host institution. Depending on candidates’ experience, scholarships up to €2.5 million are available for a period of 5 years. Application process is ongoing.

The European Research Council, set up by the European Union in 2007, is the premiere European funding organisation for excellent frontier research. Every year, it selects and funds the very best, creative researchers of any nationality and age, to run projects based in Europe. The ERC offers four core grant schemes: Starting, Consolidator, Advanced and Synergy Grants. With its additional Proof of Concept grant scheme, the ERC helps grantees to bridge the gap between their pioneering research and early phases of its commercialisation.

Researchers will benefit from a CERN Staff Member contract for the corresponding duration of the grant, up to a maximum of 5 years, CERN’s comprehensive health scheme for you and your family as well as membership of the CERN Pension Fund.
