Applications are now open for the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation’s International Climate Protection Fellowships, which will enable young climate experts from developing countries to conduct a research-based project in the field of climate conservation during a one-year stay in Germany from January 2016 to January 2017. The deadline for applying is March 15th 2015.
The fellowship amounts to (according to qualifications) between 2,150 EUR and 2,750 EUR per month and includes an allowance for research projects in the natural and engineering sciences amounting to 800 EUR monthly, as well as an allowance for single parents accompanied by children. All travel expenses are covered and an additional extension of the fellowship up to three months is possible.
A maximum of 20 fellowships are granted annually. Experts who are active in the fields of scientific, engineering, legal, economic, health-related or social aspects of climate change are welcome to apply. An intensive two-month German language course is given to the candidates, including a complete support by the foundation.
Interested candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree with excellent results and some initial practice experience. Other eligibility criteria include leadership potential, citizenship of a developing country, and two references. Please see a list of eligible countries.
Applications must be completed online on The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation official website. The completed application form including all the necessary additional documentation must be submitted before the deadline.
