"EU too", the new feature project of the online magazine cafébabel is now seeking for journalists, filmmakers and photographers that will hit the road to the next destination: Krakow. If you are under 35 years old, you live in a European country and you have a strong interest about youth matters don’t miss the chance to apply for this opportunity by October 30, 2015.
“EU too” project aims to touch upon the following questions: “Who are the young people contesting European consensus and leaving it behind in favour of alternative ideas? Why do they feel badly represented? What is it that they want to change? What are they hoping for in the future?”
Followed by Budapest in September and Madrid in October, the next team of four selected journalists will travel from the 25th to 29th of November, 2015 in Krakow and meet with young people of the South Polish city in order to include their voices to the European debate.
Cafébabel seeks 2 print journalists, 1 photographer and 1 filmmaker with “a youth-friendly and off-the-wall tone, as well as an original and innovative style” as well as a creative storytelling backed up with facts, statistics and verifiable sources.
Interested candidates should be under 35 years old and reside in a European country. If you want to apply for this opportunity you can send a CV, 3 article proposals (of three lines each) and suggestions for potential interviewees here. Applicants for the photographer or videomaker positons should send a link to their portfolio as well. The article proposals need to be related to one of the four reporting sectors of cafébabel: politics, society, culture or lifestyle.
Following the end of the trip to Krakow the deadline for the submission of written pieces is strictly one week after. It will then be edited, translated and published in the six languages of cafébabel over the following month. Selected candidates will have to arrange on their own transportation to Krakow and a sum of up to €280 will be reimbursed once returned from the trip. Other travel and food expenses will be reimbursed up to €200.
Cafébabel is a European online magazine, created in 2001 by Erasmus students. It currently runs in six languages, French, English, German, Spanish, Italian and Polish and covers a wide range of topics related to the European youth.
