Australian Government Research Training Program

Australian Government Research Training Program (AGRTP) Scholarship 2020 at Flinders University is calling for proposals. These scholarships are intended to support international students to undertake a Higher Degree by research at Flinders University in Adelaide, Australia. The deadline is on 7 August 2020.

Flinders University is a public university founded in 1966. The university is focused on global research and contemporary education through its six colleges of Business, Government and Law, Education, Psychology and Social Work, Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences, Medicine and Public Health, Nursing and Health Science and Science and Engineering.

A limited number of AGRTPS are available each year and the scholarship round is highly competitive. The AGRTPS is awarded to candidates who demonstrate an outstanding aptitude for independent research. Scholarships are considered on the basis of academic merit, academic research training, and research indicators and performance.

The scholarship is tenable for up to three years for a Research Doctorate degree and up to two years for a Research Master’s degree. The AGRTPS pays the international student tuition fees and includes a living stipend paid at the rate of $28,092 as well as overseas health care cover. Students from overseas are eligible for an establishment of up to $1,485 to assist with relocation costs and airfares, provided receipts can be produced by the student.

Main criteria

  • Applicants are required to have successfully completed a degree at least the equivalent/comparable to an Australian First Class Hons degree, a four-year degree with a major research project in the final year
  • Applicants must have met the English proficiency levels set by Flinders University for international students
  • Applicants are required to contact a university professor and have an informal supervision agreement if successful
  • As part of the application, you should provide evidence of publications, academic transcripts, a research proposal, and your CV
