Candidates wishing to pursue their graduate studies in Japan are invited to apply for the fully funded Asian Development Bank-Japan Scholarship programme. Scholars will have all their expenses covered. The deadline is on Wednesday 30th June 2021.
The Asian Development Bank Japan Scholarship Programme offers about 140 postgraduate scholarships a year for studies in economics, management, science and technology, and other development-related fields.
The scholarship covers full tuition fees, a monthly subsistence allowance, books and instructional materials, medical insurance, and travel expenses.
For scholars engaged in research, a special grant may be available for thesis preparation.
In special circumstances, computer literacy, preparatory language and other similar courses may be covered under the scholarship.
Major fields of study include science and technology, agriculture, biological science, computer science, energy, engineering, environment, forestry, genetics, and health, economics, business and management, and more.
Only candidates who have been offered admission and endorsed by the academic institutions will be considered for the scholarships by the ADB.
The deadline is on Wednesday 30th June 2021.
Main Criteria
The scholarship is open to citizens of an ADB borrowing member and Japanese Official Development Assistance scholarship eligible country.
A bachelor’s degree or its equivalent with superior academic record is required along with at least two years of professional working experience.
