Water Journalism Academy 2020 for the MENA region and Turkey

40 journalists and bloggers interested in covering water-related stories are invited for the first virtual Water Journalism Academy 2020 for Middle East and North Africa. The program is virtual and free and will take place on 10 August – 14 September 2020.

The Regional Program Energy Security and Climate Change Middle East and North Africa (KAS – REMENA) of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung invite 40 journalists, bloggers, content creators, youtubers, social media influencers and media professionals to the first virtual Water Journalism Academy.

KAS – REMENA promotes dialogue, partnership and cooperation among the countries of the MENA-Region and with the European Union concerning resources and climate issues.

The program is comprised of a four-module training and co-creation workshop bringing together media professionals with key stakeholders of the water and environmental sectors.

Additional follow-up coaching and a regional competition, the Blue Peace Open Eye Award, will award the production of innovative media pieces that make a meaningful contribution to improve water management across the region.

The program is virtual and free and will take place on 10 August – 14 September 2020.

The deadline is on 2 July 2020.

 

Main criteria

  • The program is open to environmental journalists and media professionals from the Middle East & North Africa and Turkey
  • Journalists, bloggers, content creators, youtubers, social media influencers and media professionals should demonstrate interest in water and sanitation related storytelling
  • The stories can be either/or a combination of written, oral or visual among other creative formats
  • Please provide your biography and CV as well as a short abstract of your water story with samples of previous stories if available
