Junior Professionals in Delegation Traineeship Programme

Junior professionals from the EU Member States are invited to join the European Commission and the European External Action Service on a paid 12-month traineeship. Trainees will receive a stipend, accommodation allowance, and insurance coverage. The deadline is on Sunday 31st January 2021.

The European External Action Service (EEAS) and the European Commission (EC) have established a high-level traineeship programme which gives an opportunity to highly qualified junior professionals from the EU Member States to work in the EU Delegations worldwide.

The aim of the programme is to enable young people to gain a first-hand experience in the work of Delegations and an in-depth understanding of their role in the implementation of EU external policies.

Junior professionals can work in one of the 143 EU delegations and can be posted, depending on the nature of their tasks, in the EEAS sections – for political, press and information functions or the EC sections – for aid management, trade, economic issues, etc.

In the application form, candidates are asked to provide information on their academic achievements, knowledge of languages, professional experience, extra-curriculum activities and motivation.

Trainees are entitled to a monthly remuneration package composed of a grant of € 1,419, an accommodation contribution set at € 1,092, and additional contributions towards settling and insurance.

Traineeships will start in September or October 2021.

The deadline is on Sunday 31st January 2021.
