Keio University Japan offers annual scholarships for international students to pursue an English-taught Bachelor programme. Candidates need to apply to university through a winter admissions process and then submit their scholarship application for one of the eligible funding options. The deadline is on Monday 1st February 2021.
Keio University is a private research university located in Minato, Tokyo, Japan. It is the oldest institute of modern higher education in Japan.
The university is one of the members of Top Global University Project, funded by the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.
Candidates can apply to one of the two scholarships. Japanese Government MEXT Scholarship will cover travel costs and provide a monthly allowance of JPY 117,000 ($1,123) to cover living expenses.
Another scholarship available to international students is Masatada Kobayashi Scholarship For International Students. The scholarship of JPY 1,000,000 per year ($9,640) will be used for the payment of academic fees required at the time of entering the university.
The rest of the scholarship amount will be paid into the scholarship recipient’s bank account after enrollment.
The deadline is on Monday 1st February 2021.
To be eligible for the GIGA Scholarships 2021 at Keio University for Undergraduate Studies, applicants must:
- Be an incoming first-year student with foreign nationality.
- Have maintained a GPA of 2.3 or its equivalent in the previous two years in high school and be expected to maintain during studies at Keio University.
- Possess English language proficiency required for admission into an undergraduate study program at Keio University, Japan.
