DAAD Scholarships in the Field of Performing Arts

International graduates are invited to continue their studies in the fields of drama, direction, dance, choreography, or musical performance on full scholarships in Germany. The funding covers living expenses, health insurance, allowances and monthly payments for accompanying family members. The deadline is on 30 October 2020.

DAAD scholarships offer graduates the opportunity to continue their education in Germany with a postgraduate or continuing course of study in the field of performing arts. The scholarships also promote the exchange of experience and networking amongst colleagues. The DAAD is the world’s largest funding organisation for the international exchange of students and researchers. Its budget is derived mainly from the federal funding for various ministries, primarily the German Federal Foreign Office, but also from the European Union and a number of enterprises.

Scholarships cover between 10 and 24 months depending on the length of the chosen study program or project. Studies usually start from 1 October or earlier if a language course is taken prior to the study program. To receive further funding after the first year of study for 2-year courses, proof of academic achievements thus far should indicate that the study program can be successfully completed within the standard period of study. Applicants who are already in Germany in the first year of a postgraduate course at the time of application may apply for funding for their second year of study. Grantees will receive a monthly payment of 861 euros, travel allowance, health insurance coverage, rent subsidy, and a monthly allowance for accompanying members of the family.

The deadline is on 30 October 2020.
