Apply Now To Become A Young Champion Of The Earth

If you have a powerful idea to protect or restore the environment, then you should consider applying to become a Young Champion of the Earth. In order to participate, applicants should submit their applications by 18th of June.

Young Champions of the Earth is an organization that aims to nurture the next generation of environmental leaders. Through networks and partnerships, the contest connects Young Champions with business leaders, scientific innovators, national-level policymakers, and United Nations experts.

Main criteria

  • Candidates must be 18-30 years old on 15 November, 2017;
  • Projects should demonstrate the potential for a positive impact on society and the environment, as well as financial viability;
  • The theme of each project should conform to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

The winners receive an award of US$15,000. Moreover, the finalists will attend the UN Environment Assembly in Nairobi (2017) or in New York (2018) with all expenses covered, meet with leading policymakers and environment ministers, and participate in an intensive, one-week entrepreneurship course in Europe in the first quarter of 2018 (also all expenses paid).
